People who develop cellulite when they gain a significant amount of weight also have a higher chance of losing it when they slim down.
Methods That Work to Remove Cellulite
Now back to the most important question: How do you remove cellulite? There are a variety of methods available on the market right now which includes cellulite creams, liposuction, laser treatments and massages. Unfortunately, a majority of these treatments have yet to be backed by scientific evidence, so they may or may not work for you.
In fact, liposuction is even being advised against by medical professionals because it targets deep fat tissues instead of subcutaneous fats found beneath the skin. Should you choose to ignore the warnings, there may be a possibility of the appearance of cellulite worsening postoperatively because of additional depressions in the skin.
So, is all hope lost seeing that medical advances have yet to come out with a definitive method of removing cellulite? Not quite. Exercise can work to effectively diminish or at least reduce the appearance of cellulite found around the common areas such as the thighs.
The main principle around this is that cellulite is essentially still fatty tissue (adipose) that could be lost with weight loss. By consistently managing your diet and weight, you could potentially tighten and firm your skin in the long run. Bear in mind, however, that the effectiveness that weight loss is limited to genetics, such as the elastin and collagen present in your skin. Health is the most important aspect of life and should never be sacrificed for cosmetic purposes.
