“What would it be like if I…?”
You can fill in the blank with any number of things you’ve thought about achieving. For example, what would it be like if I lost 25 pounds? Went back to school? Could be more independent? The sky is the limit when you’re setting goals for yourself, but most people have a much easier time setting goals than actually following through with the work it takes to achieve them. People tend to want to follow the path of least resistance and take shortcuts. But there is no shortcut when it comes to achieving true success and lasting results.
Wanting instant gratification can be the very thing that holds you back from reaching your true potential. Learning how to change and develop better habits and behaviors is a process that takes time, but this step by step approach is what will help you succeed. You must put in the effort and do what is necessary to go through the progression. You cannot skip a step. When you try to advance to the goal without going through the progression, you are setting yourself up for failure, like trying to build a house without a foundation. But when you take the time to go through each small step thoroughly and properly before moving on to the next one, those little steps eventually all add up to become a solid support that will not only help you achieve success, but maintain it once you get there. You’ll never realize your true potential until you take action. Remember, ONLY ACTION CREATES CHANGE! Start your journey….
