Without health we have nothing! Your health has an impact on your family, social life, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It is through health that we are able to prevent disease, live happy, live longer, and live free of most medical burdens. It can be challenging to maintain a healthy weight range if you’ve never had the chance to enjoy good health before. If you are still trying to achieve your goals you are aware of the everyday struggles.

Live An Active Life Style

Without health holding you back and preventing you from doing new and exciting things, you can be as active as you’ve always wanted to be. Take running for example, it isn’t something that you may normally enjoy, in fact, it can take some time to get acclimated. But being healthy allows you to participate in running events like marathons. Completing a marathon is the ultimate sign of accomplishing goals. A marathon is a true test of your mind and body. A healthy life style allows you to seek exigent goals and provides us with an opportunity to live a happier life.

Greater Appreciation of Life

Being physically healthy improves you as a person in many ways including giving you a new found appreciation for life. Sometimes being healthy can feel like you’ve gained “mental powers.” Not in the sense that you are a superhero with powers, although that would be cool! But more of the being able to learn faster type, or being able to focus for longer periods of time, and many more perks. If you’ve ever gone through a major transformation or “fell off” you will especially notice the differences. You’ll notice that you can focus on tasks extremely easy as compared to before or someone else. When you live healthy you can do things you normally wouldn’t and have energy that most people don’t have, this is especially important for parents and people that work full time. It’s tough working all day and then coming home tired. Squeezing in a 30 or 45 minute workout can greatly improve your energy, especially if you are maintaining a healthy balanced diet.

Minimize Risk of Illness

If you can’t relate with any of these reasons, then just do it to stay away from the doctor. Being healthy minimizes your visits to the doctor and greatly decreases any chances of serious illness. Whatever your reason is for wanting to be healthy, do it because it is what you want to do and you will grow to enjoy it. You could choose the healthy path because you want to look good, prolong your life, enjoy being active, or anything else, you have to be the one to make that decision. Right now our country is facing a serious obesity problem and it is within all of our best interests for everyone to “pull their own weight.” It’s a serious problem that we spend so much money on health care and it is of utmost importance that we all do our part as healthy citizens.

There is no magic pill or person that can do the work for you and suddenly grant you your wishes. It all has to come from you and the good news is that the decision is the hardest part. If you are honest with yourself and decide healthy is what you want to be, then the rest will become easy.
