When I was given the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease a feeling of defeat, and almost hopelessness soon took place over my body which I felt was no longer my own. The frustration of the feeling that I would soon slowly lose function over many of the movements I had taken for granted my entire life. A month ago; however, my life took a dramatic change, for the better.
I was introduced to Andreas and Debra at TFW through an ad I had seen on Facebook, and I immediately went in for an initial evaluation. From the minute I walked in the door, I felt comfortable. After explaining my situation, he even gave me a guarantee that with a combination of proper nutrition and exercise I would finally regain control over the disease that I had thought was victor.
With a combination of mental, physical and nutritional coaching I was given the opportunity to reverse my situation. I really felt the sincerity behind Andreas and his genuine want to help me seek the positive in a difficult situation. So far within a month, I have increased my stamina, my tremors have subsided, and my energy level has doubled. For anyone struggling and feeling hopeless, I would strongly recommend Andreas and TFW for a free consultation.

KIM: “I have been a member of a handful of gyms throughout my life. I would enthusiastically begin my memberships with hopes of becoming a more physically fit person, only to quickly become bored with the repetitiveness of the various cardiovascular and weight lifting machines available. I joined Training For Warriors Connecticut hoping it would be different, and it has been! The programs are energetic and never routine, and the instructors are motivational. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and I have never felt better about myself. Working out at Training For Warriors Connecticut has been worth every penny”

Jen Monti a TFWConnecticut client:
In September 2016 I was looking to take my fitness to a new level. I had found a Facebook Ad for Training for Warriors and decided to give them a call. After my initial meeting with Andreas I knew that TFW Familia would be a good fit. I began working out 3 times a week with Debra and Andreas. I was feeling stronger, but I was trying to “out-train” a bad diet which we all know you can’t do. I was starting to feel like giving up when Deb approached me about trying a new program they were offering “Pro-Coach Nutrition.” In January I started the program and it has really changed my whole entire outlook on this process. The program works on small habit changes working towards a well-rounded healthy lifestyle. I’ve upped my workouts to 4 times a week with Deb and Andreas- and I have even added in running again. Since I began working with Debra and Andreas I have lost 6% of my body fat and gained muscle. I feel stronger than I ever have and look forward to coming to class. It is really a family atmosphere at TFW, and I have made friends that I know will last a lifetime.

My Name is Polly Sorrentino a TFWConnecticut client:
I had been going to the same gym for 10 years, just going through the motions. I would take an aerobics class, a spin class, or sometimes yoga class, but mostly just walking on the Tread mill. The instructor’s never really paid attention to me. Some did not even know my name and if I had an injury or were not doing the exercise or pose correctly.
Then I heard about TFW Connecticut, I was told they had classes no bigger than 10 people. Classes start at 5:30pm which works best for my schedule. They do have classes earlier and later in the day. So I went to find out what this was all about. The first meeting we just talked. I met the instructors. Andreas Washeim and Debra Rydziel and they explained their methods. They offer Strength, Energy & Hurricane classes. Then they asked me what I wanted to achieve and what was my goal.
So I started taking classes 3X/week. I really enjoy the classes. I am in a group setting but I still have that 1 on 1 feeling. They have an amazing warmup that prepares my whole body for the training session that day. They make sure my form and movement is perfect so I don’t get hurt & every single exercise has multiple progressions! I was used to doing the same routine for 2 years. At TFWConnecticut they build on a new training program each month and we track our progress daily!
Due to an accident I had minor surgery in January; I told them what was happening. After I took a few days off, I went right back to training and they adapted my routine for me without disrupting the entire class. I am up to 5 classes a week and there is no stopping me now! I can say not only does this help me physically but it helps me mentally. I can see and feel the results! I feel better about myself so I am a better person thanks to TFW Connecticut!
– Polly Sorrentino
My name is Ed Kuhla, I would like to take a moment to say thank you to Coach Debra Rydziel and Andreas Washeim of TFW Connecticut.
I am going on 5 years living in this part of CT of which the first 4-1/2 years were spent doing “my own thing” at a local gym. Great equipment, nice staff and nice facility, still going there. Though I was routine and regimented in my workouts, and did see results, adding TFW as part of my routine has been a huge plus.
I have been working out routinely at TFW Connecticut for 6 months now and I must say I am very pleased with the additional results, toning up in all the right places, stronger than I’ve been, and liking the diversity offered in the workouts. The staff has proven to be very knowledgeable and motivating. Each month workouts are modified accordingly based on progress, focus areas and desired results. I have a higher level of confidence and sense of achievement and simply feel good, healthy and vibrant.

Chris Doherty:
When I joined TFW in May 2014, I had just turned 46 years old, overweight and frustrated with other gyms, and the lack of attention the other gyms provide. I had been trying for years to find something that worked for me, but nothing made sense. A friend of mine (Marcelo Ramos ) suggested that I talk to his trainer. So I stopped in and spoke to Andreas. He was the first person that made sense to me. I signed myself and my son Conor up on the spot. I thank God that I did.
Since then, the motivational support and guidance I received from TFW has enabled me to start transforming my body and my life. My eating habits are considerably better as well as my regular energy levels, focus and even my patience. I find that I get excited about going to a workout rather than the anxiety of drudging to a sweat box gym that usually made me feel worse after a workout. Coach Debra makes workouts fun, and she is constantly changing things up so that you never get bored or have your body get to used to the same old routine. I would also like to say something about the other clients of TFW, we encourage each other to get the most out of each workout, and we inspire each other to be stronger warriors. Three months in and I have already lost approximately 25 lbs. I am not just losing weight, but rearranging it and getting stronger every day. I still have a long road before me, and as I reach goals, I set new ones. I would strongly urge anyone that may feel some of the same frustrations that I felt to give TFW a try.
Thank you Coach Debra,Thank you Andreas,
VERY GRATEFULLY YOURS,
– Chris Doherty

LIZ CLOSIUS
Andreas and Deb,
LIZ: “My experience with Training For Warriors Connecticut has been absolutely amazing. I began working with TFW in September 2012, after trying many different exercise programs. I had tried different gyms, trainers, and at home workouts, but I didn’t stick with anything long enough to see enough results to maintain an active lifestyle. Working with the kettle bells, and especially the trainers, has changed my outlook on working out. Debra and Andreas provide workouts that are fun and challenging, rotating through different exercises to keep it interesting. Using the kettle bells, TRX swings, sandbags and various workout materials is much more fun than the monotonous routines I had encountered at other gyms. In addition, Deb and Andreas are amazing trainers. They keep me motivated, inspired, and challenged while ensuring that I am safe. Safety is a huge concern for anyone working out, and TFW makes sure that all of my questions are answered and that my form is what it needs to be. If I struggle, they patiently give me feedback while applauding my efforts. Their feedback reinforces my work, and I now strive to workout harder and more efficiently. The trainers are up for the challenge! As I prepare for my wedding, they listen when I say that I want to target my arms, legs, back or abs, and adjust my workouts accordingly. They are also great listeners- people that I can vent to after a long day (or month!), and genuinely care about my well being. They also understand that it’s hard to work out when you’re feeling down, but encourage me to continue and do my best.
In short, I am nothing short of thrilled with my experience at TFW. I have finally found a gym where I am successful, gaining strength and losing fat, and encouraged on a daily basis. The workouts are personalized to my abilities while ensuring my safety. Deb and Andreas keep me coming back for more, and continue to inspire me to be the best I can be. TFW is a gym where I leave with a smile, and wake up feeling the results of my workout. I will absolutely continue to train with Deb and Andreas. Thank you guys for everything!!!”

Taking part in the group Kettlebell fitness class has challenged me and made me realize with hard work my body is capable of things I would have never thought I could have done. Deb is extremely helpful and motivating while instructing class and is always changing up the exercises to keep us challenged. She always has different modifications for each exercise to make them harder or easier depending on our individual fitness level. The class has a fun atmosphere and is something that I look forward to, the hour flies by so fast. Deb is awesome!

BRIAN ANTHONY – PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER
I have been training with Andreas for several years now. Typically, after several years of just about anything in life, it has the tendency to become stale, repetitive, and sometimes even boring. Training with Andreas is the exact opposite of all these adjectives. Andreas implements a level of excitement into his training, that I would dare say NO other trainer can offer. After all these years, Andreas still never ceases to amaze me with his capability to keep me captivated in my workouts, as every day is a new challenge, a new exercise, or a new level of intensity. As an athlete, it is important to me to be motivated, pushed, and excited. Andreas provides all of these aspects in my training, and continues to make it fun. His level of commitment to his clients, as well as his energy is second to no trainer i’ve ever worked with. It is next to impossible not to feel motivated while training with Andreas, even on my worst days he has found the correct formula of energy and encouragement to get me not only “through” a workout, but excel at it! Andreas is a catalyst for all things good with training, because he legitimately cares about the success of his clients and takes their success as a measure of who he is as a trainer. I can say with complete sincerity, that I could never imagine having to go to another trainer again.
SUSAN GORMLEY
I joined Snap Fitness about 4 years ago, after I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and wanted to try to build bone without taking any of the medication the doctors wanted to prescribe. I met Andreas a few months later, and he encouraged me to train with him to build my body strength, improve my balance, and build bone mass.
With Kettle Bells, TRX straps, and many other pieces of his wonderful apparatus, four years later I have built bone mass and my balance has improved enormously, thanks to Andreas’s full body work outs twice a week. He makes them challenging and diversified so that you do not feel in a rut. In fact, you feel great after 30 minutes with Andreas!
I always feel good about myself after training, and sleep well that night. Andreas is a fine and professional trainer and pushes you to your limits without doing any harm to yourself. I will be 68 in a few months, and would like to be strong and fit when I hit 90. So I plan to keep training as long as possible.
Susan Gormley, 67 years and counting.

– What can I say…Andreas and Debra and the Kettlebell Fitness team are awesome individuals and extrememly knowledgeable trainers. These trainers place the highest values on safety and identifying and developing individual abilities. I have been a client of Kettlebell Fitness now for 10 months. During these 10 months I have learned a lot about my body and how this understanding translates into fulfilling my goals. Two months ago I had knee surgery. I thought for sure that all my hard work would be destroyed because of my weakened ability and of the lengthy rehabilitation time. Nope! Debra made certain that I continue with a modified training program that aligned with my doctors orders, which not only strengthened my knee, but my faith in myself. I am stronger and toner. I am more confident and certain that I can achieve what I set out to do. What an impact this has had on my life!
Thank you Debra and thank you Andreas for believing in me!

– Taking Cast Iron KettlebellFitnessCT classes has showed me that my body is capable of endurance with all of the health issues I have. The first day I was in class, I felt like death took over and what did I get myself into. I decided to stick to it for a few more classes and was glad I did! I didnt think I was capable of doing any of the things I used to watch people do, that I was now doing. It definitely is uniquely different that all the gym machines and free weights! I feel fit, tone, and most importantly healthy all while having fun!

– KettleBellFitnessCT’s “Cast Iron Training system” maybe a new concept to a lot of people. But let me tell you is the best workout program. This is the very best all around exercise I encountered. Now for someone who really does not like to exercise this is perfect, It’s fun and get the workout I need for strengthening muscles and cardio all in one. Now for the trainers they are all very professional and well educated in Kettle Bells but also in other workout programs. I started my training with Andreas and he really motivated me to work hard but also to have fun while I am working out. I currently train with Debra and she is such a wonderful trainer and person, always caring but don’t let that fool you she really works us hard and she always puts us through a routine so that we can work all the different body parts and incorporates cardio as well. There are days that I am so tired from work that I have to drag myself to the gym, but after the their workout I feel so much better and I feel more energized. Thank you to all the trainers at KettlebellFitnessCT you are absolutely great. Love you guys.

I was injured almost 3 years ago and was completely paralyzed on my left side. Some of my injuries include my left leg, back, and shoulders.
I was about 40% when I started using Andy almost a year ago as a Personal Trainer. Andy has conferred with my medical teams and with his own background in training has designed a program just for me. He has been consistently monitoring my rehab. His patience and concern for me and all his clients has become obvious to me.He continues to take classes and seminars to further improve his career choice.
My program with Andy Washeim, although ambitious, hase been entirely doable and pain free. I feel I’m now at 95% with a great future and I lost 22 lbs. to boot.
Thanks Andreas

Andreas:
As my long hike on the Appalachian Trail approaches I just wanted to send you a big thank you for all your help in getting me up to the standards I need to be at to accomplish a life long quest. Although you were not alone in getting me ready for my little adventure you did play a major part in reshaping me into someone who stands a good chance at completing what I set out to do and even giving me enough of a boost to plan for next years adventures.
When I told you what I needed to be able to do you took all the information in and planned out a course of action that fit my needs. Although sometimes I didn’t think I would be able to finish your routines, with your encouragement I was able to prove to myself that I was able to accomplish the tasks you had laid out for me. Most of these tasks were extremely beneficial on the trail. My balance and endurance were raised to the point of not wondering if I was able to do certain sections of the trail, rather I knew I could do them it was just a mater of how long it would take and what I was going to do after I arrived at my destination.
Here’s hoping the ground stays dry and it stays cool with plenty of sunshine. Thanks again and I look forward to working with you on next years quest.

Hi, my name is Steph Didonato. I’ve been working out with Andreas for about a year now. I had put on a bunch of weight in 2008 and, like everyone else, kept saying, “ Starting next week, I’m going to start working out and eating better.” Well next week never came.
I will never forget the day that pushed me over to the “better lifestyle” point of view. I was shopping at Burlington Coat Factory, when I needed to walk upstairs. I could hardly make it to the top without being completely out of breath!! Right then, I thought to myself, “Oh My God!! I can’t believe I’m out of breath from walking up 15 stairs!” I was an active person all of my life until last year when I gained almost 50 lbs, and the vicious cycle began. I had no motivation to start working out. I went from being in shape and working out every day, to lying around doing nothing. I became very depressed with how unhealthy I had become and knew I needed help with changing my lifestyle. I began calling around to try and find a trainer. I have worked out with personal trainers in the past, but all they seemed to do was tell me “good job, keep going” Finally, after about a month of looking, I found Andreas.
From the first time I met with him, I knew he was different then all the other trainers I had worked with. Before we even started the actual workout, I could just tell he was extremely passionate about what he did. Not only did he get to know my workout abilities but he got to know me as a person. No matter what kind of day I was having, by the time I was done with my workout, I was always smiling. The positive energy Andreas gives off is contagious. I worked with Andreas twice a week for 10 months, and within that short amount of time, I would notice small things such as; climbing stairs was no longer a challenge, or my clothes were starting to fit better and I had more energy throughout the day. I was on the right path to the old me and I’m having so much fun doing it!! One of my favorite things about working out with Andreas is how much fun his workouts are. I’m always doing something different from workout to workout.
Now a days, you hear so many different ways on how to eat healthy, but honestly, which way is correct??? I was so confused on what to eat, when to eat it and how much to eat but Andreas also taught me how to eat correctly. Sadly, in the beginning of July I ran into some financial trouble and needed to put my workouts on hold. It was 2 months before I could start back, but during those 2 months Andreas still would touch base with me to see how everything was going. That proved to me I was right, He is extremely passionate about what he does and the well being of his clientele. Finally, at the beginning of September I was able to start back with my workouts and have been training with Andreas ever since.

INDEPENDENT STUDY ASSIGNMENT
The new physical experience that I chose was kettle bell training. Kettlebell training is a great way to work your entire body through strategic movement using a kettle bell. It takes both upper and lower body strength to achieve maximal performance. Another very important aspect of kettlebell training is form. Without having proper form, one can be very susceptible to injury. A kettlebell is an iron ball with a handle that comes in different weights, sizes, and colors.
During last semester’s health fair, we had a personal trainer demonstrating kettlebell exercises. I had seen kettle bells before but was not sure of how they worked. After watching a demonstration of how a work out was performed, I became very interested in learning more about them. There was one exercise that I specifically remember, which was the turkish up. I saw him do it and said that doesn“t look so hard. I“m athletic and should be able to do this easily. I then tried the Turkish get up. Let me tell you that it was the farthest thing from easy. I was amazed at how much muscle control in your legs and arms it took to stand up with one of the kettle bells. After that I knew that this would be a workout I would love to try.
I contacted the trainer who specialized in kettlebell workouts and set up an appointment to learn some basic techniques. He had me first begin with simple movement exercises using my legs. I could tell that technique was very important because a couple times I had used more of my arms then legs and could barely lift the bell. I learned a couple different exercises that worked my hamstrings, quads, biceps, upper back, shoulders, and core. As you can see kettle bell training works almost every muscle in your body if performed properly.
I really enjoyed the training and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a new and exciting full body workout. The personal trainer that I went to see was Andreas. He is very knowledgeable and great at what he does. It was great to come into contact with him. Now I have someone in the local area that I can refer clients to who are in need of a personal trainer. Overall this was a great experience and I hope to further my exploration with kettlebell training in the future.
Client’s dedication to training becomes Passion for training others!
-What an amazing journey! Since starting my training with Andreas two years ago, I am hooked and have become passionate about training. Andreas’ technique keeps training challenging, interesting, and fun. He incorporates his knowledge of traditional training methods with non-traditional methods and equipment, such as kettlebells – this sets him apart from other trainers. His attention to proper form increases your awareness of the exercise. Andreas’ never duplicates a workout, keeping with the philosophy of muscle confusion for optimal results. In my first four months of training, Andreas worked with me to reach my fitness goal of losing 50 lbs. By training twice a week, combined with cardio and Andreas’ guidance in helping me to change unhealthy behaviors, I have maintained that loss and continue to improve my strength and conditioning beyond my expectations. Andreas is always reassuring but knows when and how far to push me to excel to the next level. Training has enabled me to be confident and focused, and has given me the ability to challenge myself to set and accomplish new fitness and personal goals. Andreas’ enthusiasm, motivation, passion, and devotion to help his clients succeed, make him an extraordinary trainer.

I just wanted to share a story about my back. Last weekend I was mulching the yard. This consists of lifting and hauling 80 – 50 to 60 pound bags of mulch. While I was spreading the mulch I felt the dreaded pop in my back. I sat down for a few minutes to rest. Realizing my back was only tightening up and I could no longer stand up straight rather than sit there and feel sorry for myself knowing what the next 4 to 6 weeks will be like. Stiffness, pain, low production at work no energy, many expensive chiropractor visits, lost sleep etc, I remembered some of the movements and stretching exercises you showed me when I started with you. I spent the next 45 min. Doing these stretching exercises and movements working on my back. At the end of that 45 minutes I felt good enough to finish the job with the mulch. By the end of the day I felt so good I found myself running in the yard playing with her puppy and my eight-year-old son. The next day I woke up like nothing had happened the day before.
Before training with you I was never able to beat my back. Now for the first time in a long time I feel I am in control of my back.
Just wanted to say thank you to Andreas and Debra and looking forward to much more training and getting in shape[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]TW
